Northern Thailand Tours

A very mountainous region with many picturesque parks. It is a cooler climate area of the country where pine forests and montane forests occur. Some mountains with over 2,000 meters peaks are unique habitats for many high altitude species that could not find in other places in Thailand. Rice fields and lakes at low land areas are also good spots for many interesting migrant and resident species. Popular birding sites include Doi Inthanon National Park, Doi Ang Khang, Doi San Ju, Doi Lang, Huai Hong Khrai Royal Project, Tham Pha Plong Temple, Ban Hong Non-hunting Area, Chiang San Lake, Mae Ay Rice Field, Wiang Nong Lom Field, Doi Chang Moob Botanical Garden, Mae Wong National Park, and Bung Boraphet Lake. There is another great birding site in the west called Huai Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary, it is the most pristine and intact dry-dipterocarp forest in Southeast Asia. This site can also incorporates in the itinerary for the northern route, if you want to explore it too.
