Koh Yao : consists of two large islands, Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai, surrounded by many smaller islands. The total area is 137.6 sq kms. Largely unaffected by booming development in nearby Phuket. Koh Yao Noi retains it is traditional Muslim culture almost unchanged. There are a few bungalow operations providing basic but very charming accommodation.
Travel to Koh Yao Noi is available from Phuket, Phang-Nga and Krabi, but leaving from Phuket is most convenient. If travel to Krabi & Phang-Nga, there are ferry longtail boat four time a day to/from Koh Yao Noi.
Baan Tha Khao
is on Haad Tha Khao (Tha Khao Beach) is approximately 5 kms from Koh Yao Noi's district office. Intricately lined, colourful rocks both large and smalll are the attraction of this beach. Just offshore is Koh Nok, a tiny island that can be conveniently reached on foot at low tide. It is covered by very interesting wild plants and orchids.
Not only to travelling on Koh Yao Noi, you can do another activities to Phang Nga Bay and Krabi province as Island Group in front of bungalow for swimming and snorkeling as on Pa Koh Island (Koh Pak Bia, Koh Hong, etc) or to Ao Nang beach by rental longtail boat.
