Khao Nam Khang National Park covers 212 sq. km of forested mountain range of Songkhla's border with Malaysia. The hills rise to 648 m and are relatively cool at the summit of Khao Nam Khang, which means Dew Mountain. Most of the area is covered in dense and flourishing rain forest and is home to several species of deer, wild pigs, tapirs, gibbons and langur . Birds including Hornbills, Bulbuls, Barbets, Woodpeckers, Flycatchers, Malkohas,Broadbills Pittas and many more. The best waterfalls are Nam Tok Ton Tad Fah and Wang Laung Phrom and an extra attraction is the cave and tunnel system which served as a base for the defeated Communist Party of Thailand The park is about 2 hours drive from Songkhla or Hat Yai.
